Ok so there is a dixon dealer about 5 mins away from my house. Now ive heard a bunch of bashing about them here on LS. I am getting my first mower for next season. So i checked the website and they're mowers dont look half bad? I was looking at the 34z and it seems to be a decent machine.

Now come with the bashing! Any pros to dixon?
Any pics of lawns done with a dixon? What makes these mowers so bad? Ive heard of flimsy decks but the website states they are 7 guage? Engines seem up to par? Not sure on hydraulics. So let me know, the good, the bad, and of course THE UGLY!!!
Lol Thanks for reading guys any and all help is appreciated. Click to expand. That's a good question. Looking at the spec sheet for both, it's pretty close. They have basically the same engines and hydros. Gravely claims a little higher top speed. There were only a few difference that jumped out at me.Gravely holds 2.2 gallons more fuelDixon has larger drive tiresDixon has greaseable spindles. They are sealed on the Gravely.3year warranty on the Dixon, 2 year on the GravelyGravely weighs 725, Dixon weighs 515 (not sure who has the advantage here.)Anyone here familiar with both? I'm very familiar with the BlackBear but haven't had the chance to use the Gravely.Where is S-Man? Preps 6 tutorial for mac. He's bound to come along shortly a tell you all about his BlackBear experience.

Let's just say he's not a Dixon fan. He likes his eXmarks. S-Man, you out there?JMiller08 - Good luck with your decision. It's going to be tough.Q.
I have a Dixon and it has been my main mower for 3 years now. It is a Ram Mag 50' with the 20 hp Honda on it. It was purchased when the Ram Mag line was commercial. The new ones are made residential. With the exception of the normal wear and tear items (blades tires spindles) I have had zero failures.

The parts I mention were not failures either just things that were wearing out and were replaced before failure. I like it and would buy another.Get a test ride from your dealer and run it in your world to see if it works for you.
